Jason Momoa Conan Movie

Actor Jason Momoa, who's better known for his role in Stargate Atlantis, has been selected to portray Conan in the upcoming Conan movie directed by Marcus Nispel.
Jason Momoa isn't much famous and it's probably better like that: they will have to deliver a real plot instead of betting the movie sucess on the lead actor's fame. besides, even if he hasn't reached stardom yet, Jason Momoa is a real gifted actor. So I have good hope for this new Conan movie.

Awful choice for conan. Conan's cimmerians are based of the northen european Cimbri, wrong Ethnic group, epic movie fail soon to follow.

You got to be kidding. This lil man could only play an archer side kick for the Son of Crom....

They will have to change the poster art with that skinny arm...ha

Poor Conan.

I like Jason Momoa, but really, Conan has just got to have more muscles. we have the old comics, Arnold was closer to it.

Jason is an excellent choice for conan. Unlike popular opinion conan is not a muslce-bound thug. He's a warrior, lean and quick. Sure, with muscles. But not overboard like the original movie portrayal. And obviously they are heading for a younger look for Conan. Couldn't have picked a better candidate. Now to get a script/plot to match. Good luck fellas!

Ahnold was actually too big, but Jase here has to really rock up to be our fave Cimmerian. Conan was around 6,2' and a bit over 200 lbs, witha massive neck, deep chest, and wide shoulders, but he was not nearly as heavy as Arnold. Conan was FAST first, and strong second. He'd look like a ripped darkhaired irish guy who works swining a sledgehammer on a road crew after that guy had been in the sun all summer.

This will be a disaster. I read Howard's novels as a kid but I'm no huge Conan's fan. Still, really bad choice. Visual effects are not going to help this time.

I had great hopes for this film, but after viewing some of the images of Momoa as Conan and reading the plot, I am very disappointed.

REH's rendition of Conan is that of a HARD fighting man. Momoa looks soft and weak. Oh, he's big in the chest, but the rest, especially his shoulders, arms & forearms, look weak for someone who is suppose to have grown up fighting and just trying to survive in the wilderness.

Plus, where are the scars on his body? Conan, growing up in the environment that he did, would not have "clean" body.

I guess someone else is going to have to make another version of the movie, with another actor, after this fiasco comes out.

I didn't like Arnold's version of Conan either.
